Issue 10-The Internal Lie detector

Andy looked at the two arms that had just sprouted in astonishment and pejorative surprise. "What the heck?" he said.
"Now, there's one thing I need you to do for me," told the bat-winged figure.
"What is it?" questioned Andy.
"Wake up!" yelled the figure, and with that Andy opened his eyes to the image of another man standing above him. Andy quickly backed away after a quick look around to notice that he was still in the room with the statues in it.
"Fear not, for my intention is not to harm you," spoke the figure, an African American male.
"Who are you?" asked Andy.
"Me, I am the maker of the statues."
"Wait, these statues? How do you know what me and all these people look like?" Upon finishing his sentence, Andy remembered his dream and lifted up his shirt, and to his relief there were only four arms there. He then thought about his dream for a few moments and tried to determine how much of it was true. He then realized that the man in front of him was lying about the statues. He didn't know how, but he knew that he was lying.
"I've met you all before." Again, Andy knew he was lying.
"Why do lie to me?" demanded Andy.
"I'm not lying." Hearing again another lie, Andy walked away, realizing that trying to get this man not to lie was not worth his time. Suddenly, he was thrown to the ground. He turned around to see the man with fiery pebbles in his hands.
"Our conversation wasn't finished," he answered.
...
Dreadnaught was carrying his prize inside of his fortress, which looked much more like a castle, when suddenly Shannon woke up and pushed off of him, knocking him down.
"A little fight in you, as well, huh?" Dreadnaught spoke quite manically. Shannon ran at him and pushed him to the ground, which he hit hard.
"Just leave me alone, you creep!" she screamed.
"Creep? Yes. Alone? No." Dreadnaught replied. He took out his two swords that he had been wearing on his back. Shannon knew she couldn't beat him if he had two swords, but she also knew that he wanted her alive. She looked behind her and saw a sand trap and stepped on it. Sand shot up in the air, some getting in Dreadnaught's eyes, giving Shannon the opportunity she needed. She bolted, running as fast as she could, only looking back once to see that he wasn't chasing her. She thought that she was home free, but suddenly she didn't feel quite right. Then she looked at her hands. She realized that she was dehydrated as she had been running for several minutes and had had a skirmish, all in the middle of the desert. Come to think of it, she had been severly thirsty. She then collapsed, unable to stay conscious.
...
Jeremiah Midas and Zac were flying, trying to determine how to find Andy Martin. "Where do we start?" asked Jeremiah.
"First, let's go down to that diner and get some food," answered Zac. They Zac flew down to it, and Jeremiah covered his entire body, so that nobody could see that he was made of gold. When they went in there was a detective asking questions there.
"Sorry, no customers right now," told the clerk.
"What's going on?" asked Zac.
"A hostess was kidnapped from here a couple of nights ago," replied the detective, "They say that some monster took her. But, unless you have any information about the case, I'm going to have to ask you to leave." Zac and Jeremiah walked out the door to find Liberator himself starring them in the face.
"Hello Jeremiah," he said nonchalantly. Jeremiah grabbed Zac and held tightly before answering.
"If you take me, you take him too."
"That can be arranged," cynically replied Liberator and in an instant the two were gone.
...
In a hotel room, with the exact location disclosed, a hostess, with blue skin, wakes up and begins to leave, then, upon remembering what had happened the last time she woke up, stopped.
"That's right, don't go anywhere," The Liberator approached her with a sly aura around him.
"What the hell did you do to me?" fiercly demanded the young woman.
"I gave you life, the way it is supposed to be lived. Well, not technically me, but I did pick you out. Dr. Moriarty gave you life, and my minion kidnapped you. Now, you have the ability to do great things, Carrol. Join with us, no, join with me, and together we can make an army."
"Maybe I should just end your life right here," shot Carrol, again with intensity. She wrapped her hand around Liberator's neck, and fire started to come down her arm, from the shoulder and down until it was almost touching his neck.
"You were lonely and sick, contemplating suicide; I gave you a reason to live." She looked at The Liberator squarely in the eyes for several seconds, before releasing him. He coughed a few times, but ultimately regained his composure. "That's a good girl. Now come with me and meet the rest of the family." Andy lead her away by the hand.
...
"You don't want to do this," spoke Andy to the man with the fiery pebbles in his hands.
"No, I do!" he shouted and he hurled one at Andy that struck him in the leg, knocking Andy to the ground.
"What is wrong with you?" yelled Andy as he he screamed in pain.
"Call me neurotic, or call me bored with power, either way, you'd be right." He threw another one on a collision course with Andy's head, but when it got close it dissolved and fell away. "What the hell?" asked the man, and he threw another one, but it too dissolved. It was then that Courtney stepped forward and, motioning towards the man with her hand, all of the stones in his hand dissolved.
"Thank you, Courtney," thanked Andy, "I can take him from here." But before he could even get up, Courtney started to dissolve the man, first his nails and hair left, as he let out an agonizing scream, and then his fingers fell away, and then his all of his body dissolved and nothing at all was left of him.

Issue 9-The Chase

The figure that stood in front of Andy put his hand up.
"I do not wish to fight you," it told, "instead I have come only to warn you."
"Warn me of what? Who made these statues? Where is Courtney?"
"Only one of these questions can I answer." His voice is very deep and throaty, and his skin tone is more of a pink rather than the normal pigment of a human's skin. This creature has two large bat wings, and is consequently shirtless, but is wearing long jeans, rolled up at the end. The also bald creature saw the statue of himself and walked up to it. "I've come to warn you about yourself. I don't know how there are two of you, but there are. He sent me to kill you, Liberator did. But I can see that he has done the same to you as he did to me."
"What do you mean?" asked Andy. The figure was walking around, looking at the various statues.
"He's in charge of it all, all the distribution of abilities, it's all Liberator. He's sick, ranting about some sort of another world in which 'justice does not exist' and 'where people can be properly liberated'.
"You see, I used to be like you were, confused, depressed, and with nowhere to go. I signed up to be in the army, and they put me in a 'special' division. That's where I met him, Liberator. He told me all about his plan, before handing me a pill and demanding I take it. I did, and the next day I woke up with these." He motioned towards his wings. "For some reason, he said I was different. After a few days my skin tone started to turn; he was monitoring me closely and he said that he had never seen a subject behave like this before. I slowly started to develop my other abilities, the breath, the voice, the strength, and the ability to blend into the shadows. Liberator was relishing it, but he said that I had to stop. He told me that I was changing, becoming a monster, and only drugs would suppress it from attacking me further. So, he developed these pills that I take, and in repayment, I do his bidding. He sent me down here to kill you. I'm warning you because I want someone to stop him, even if it means the end of me. Beware, Justice, for you are the only one who can."
...
Shannon now find herself on a landmine in the middle of nowhere and she knew that the person that had kidnapped her in the first place would be back soon. She suddenly heard something behind her and looked back to see that figure who had spoken to her before walking towards her. She tensed up, but knew that she couldn't move. He was still quite a few yards away when she looked down at the landmine. Somehow, she knew exactly how to disable it, and she quickly bent down, removed the proper levers, pushed the right buttons and heard a click. She then took off running.
"No! Don't run!" she heard the figure behind her yell, "We're not done playing. Besides, you will never get past everything!" She had no clue what he meant by that, but she was not looking back. She could see all the spots on them that had landmines, with her recently acquired 'robo-vision'. She could tell where all the traps were that he had set and was able to avoid them, but this quickly slowed her down, and he was able to catch up with her. The figure grabbed her by the arms and spun her around. He hit her on the neck and she collapsed.
"Such a hard one to hold, but oh, so important."
...
"How do you expect us to find the Andy Martin that sounds more like the one I know?" asked Zac. He, Brady, Jeremiah, and Zane had lit a fire and were resting in the cave.
"Maybe we should go out and discuss it over dinner," answered Brady.
"We can't leave," replied Zane, "This is the only safe place. This is, for some reason, the only place that Liberator can't teleport to."
"We have to take the chance," spoke Jeremiah, "We have to try to find Justice and end Liberator's reign. There is no way that Liberator will know exactly where we are or where we are going. But, he have to split up. As a foursome we have no chance at finding Justice. Zac, why don't you come with me, and Brady, you go with Zane." He stopped talking and turned two stones near him into gold. "This will pay for all your expenses." He tossed one to each of them. Brady and Zac exchanged numbers so they could keep in contact with each other as the four prepared to leave. Zane pulled Jeremiah aside.
"Do you think we can trust them? After all, we've just met them."
"We don't have much of a choice. We won't get a better chance at taking down Liberator after what he has done to us. Besides this is just like what you foresaw." He put a hood on that was connected to a heavy jacket worn in order to conceal his all-golden appearance. The two groups set out. Zac and Jeremiah set out first, with Zane looking on with an uncomfortable look on his face. He turned towards Brady.
"Let's go, yellow one."
...
A woman wakes up in what she thinks is her home, remembering nothing from the day before. The last thing she remembered was working as a hosstess two days prior. She gets up and quickly realizes that this is not, in fact, her house. She was frightened, but she started to explore the house that she now found herself in. The didn't feel good, but fortunately she is able to quickly stumble her way into a bathroom. She throws some water on her face, and looks into the mirror. It is then that she notices that her skin has turned blue, and her eyes had turned black.
"What the *&%$?" she yelled as she punched the nearest wall, and it immediatly caught fire. A gas came out of a vent in the wall that knocked out the woman. Liberator looked at the whole incident from the other end of the two-way mirror with a smile on.
...
Andy was still reeling from the information just given to him from this mysterious creature while still trying to figure out who made the statues.
"How can you prove all this?" he asked the creature.
"I'm afriad I can't. but for right now, you are just going to have to trust me. Here, these will suppress any further mutation of your DNA like what happened to me."
"I'm not taking anything!!" Yelled Andy. "What happened to you won't possibly happen to me." But by the time he was done talking he lifted up his shirt, to see that two more arms had sprouted below where the other ones were.

Issue 8-The Stautes

Andy had just seen Courtney Miller drop and was left in front of a melted circle of street. He was still determined to find her, and even Cody, though. Even though he knew it would be a long shot, he jumped down the hole. He found himself in the sewer, although there was an advantage, as there were many random rats to talk with.
"Hey, did you see a girl run through here?" He asked the nearest rat.
"Yeah, she ran in the same direction that you're facing," it replied. Somehow, he didn't know how, but Andy knew that the rat was lying. It was just a gut instinct, but he was sure of it.
"It's not smart to lie to someone who's so much bigger than you, and has four arms."
"Sorry about my son, he's still learning," replied another rat that came up on the scene. She came into the light, and both the mother rat and Andy could now see each other clearly, as there was a seldom-seen light in the sewer. "Wait," suddenly started the rat, "How can you be here?"
"What do you mean?" questioned Andy.
"I think that you need to follow me," replied the mother rat, and Andy began to, while still not forgetting about Courtney.
...
Brady had suddenly found himself and Dr. Moriarty transported to some cave. He looked around to see the creature, the person who had teleported them there, and someone else whose face he could not see.
"What's going on?" Brady quickly asked.
"You fought off the creature's scream-how'd you do it?" question the teleporter.
"Don't listen to them, run, run while you can, Brady!" screamed the doctor. The creature made a physical motion and knocked the doctor unconscious.
"I demand to know what is going on." sternly and solidly said Brady.
"Oh, I see, you are the doctor's first 'patient'," noted the teleporter, "Well well, the old doctor must have mastered the bacteria method after all, perfect. I wish I could study you further, stranger, but I am afraid that you will not like what you see." He then ran at Brady, and pushed him out of the cave, that, as Brady could see as he was falling, was very high up in an unknown mountain. Brady thought he was a goner for sure.
...
"You want proof?" Zane asked Zac, "I will give you proof." He then looked at his watch. "Fly, fly out of the cave."
"Alright," Zac replied and he flew out of the cave.
"Alright, now stay there, Zac, don't move. It won't take long." Zac was hovering just outside the cave. "Ok, now look up." Zac looked up to see someone, with a yellow lab coat on, falling quickly. He flew up and caught the falling stranger, but the impact knocked them both back into Mid Cave. They tumbled into the cave, nearly knocking down Jeremiah in the process. They both got up quickly, as the cave is very large with lots of room.
"How'd you know that he was going to be there?" questioned Zac.
"Where am I? Who are you people?" Questioned Brady.
"You see," began Zane, "The Liberator is not the only one to have seen the future. I was introduced to the same machine as Andy, but I was just granted the ability to 'see' the future, although I didn't turn out to be a crazy serial killer. However, The Liberator found out about my precognitive abilities which is why he stuck me in this body, and under that boat. The last thing I saw before my consciousness was transferred was this man falling. Proof enough?"
"Why didn't Andy just kill you?" asked Zac
"The Liberator is a very complicated individual. I know that he didn't want me dead, that's why he placed me in this indestructable body. He's been to the past, the future, and everywhere in between. He has his own morals; perhaps in his own sick, twisted mind he can't kill me, or perhaps he just wants to watch me suffer, I don't know. What I do know is that right now we do not have enough fire power to take down The Liberator and his entourage."
"That's for sure," chimed in Brady, "He's got some sort of creature, and someone else working with him. This creature is really powerful, and hits hard."
"I can take him," told Zac turning on his force-field.
"No," answered Jeremiah, "To take down The Liberator, there is only one more person we need: four-armed Andy Martin."
...
Andy was following the mother rat and followed her right into where the sewer opened widened into an encircled area. It was a dead-end, but a very interesting dead-end.
"This is how I know you already," told the rat. In the closed area, stood several stone statues of different people. Andy began to examine the statues closely. He saw a four-armed one and walked over to it to see that it was him, he saw a two-armed one on the ground, looking as if it had been erodded slightly, and noticed that it was also him. He didn't know any of the other people, except that there was a statue of Courtney with hardly a face on it at all.
"Who made these? When did they get here?" inquired Andy.
"I don't know. You are the first of any of them to show up, although, wait no, help!" Andy turned around to face the rat and saw a creature, with large bat wings standing there having just bitten off the head of the rat. It was definitely a human, like Andy, but also like Andy had grown sub-human characteristics.
"You want to throw down? Let's throw down." spoke Andy, gearing up into a fighting stance.

The Giant's Heroes-Issue 7

Andy had decided to go out and try and find Cody, or Courtney, after seeing the news that their house had burned down and their father and dog had burned down with it. He got in his car, only to find out that it didn't work. He was ticked, but realized that he had the entire animal kingdom at his disposal, so he walked to the nearest pet store.
"Hi," began the receptionist, "What can I help you with?"
"I'm just looking around, thank you though." His two extra arms were hidden beneath his shirt. He walked over to the nearest cat, knowing them to be trustworthy.
"I need some information about a human that I saw on the news. Who do I need to speak with?"
"Try going to the news station and talking with them," answered the receptionist, not understanding that Andy was talking to the cat.
"There's a certain cat, well, kind of, that could give you info on anybody, human or animal," replied the cat, "This cat asks tons of animals from all around about information; it would be equivalent to one of your human 'wise men'. This cat resides in a place called Mid Cave, finding it to be acceptable. Go there, and you will get what you need. The only thing is, only wild animals know where Mid Cave is."
"Thanks," spoke Andy and quickly left to go find a wild animal.
...
"You see," began Jeremiah Midas to Zac, "Andy Martin has taken on a new life as The Liberator. With the power to traverse space and time like it is nothing, there's really not too many limits on what he can do. He started by gaining the ability to teleport across vast distances, although few people really know how. And time and space are brothers, when one is traversed, it isn't long until the other platuea is conquered as well. I know it sounds strange, but he has his own ideals. Sometimes he goes to places, and liberates, and brings peace and prosperity, while other times he wreaks havoc, and kills random innocents. As far as I know, Zane and I have been the only people to oppose is seeminly owned power trip. He knows this, and that's why we're here: it seems to be the one place he can't teleport to. He trapped my friend here in this body, and then in that boat, where you found him. With your added insight, we might be able to finally bring an end to The Liberator's vicious reign of unopposed randomness." Zac was conflicted: Andy had always been a good friend, and this certainly did not sound like the Andy Martin he knew.
"Prove this all," was Zac's only reply.
...
Shannon ran outside where she was being held, to find herself in a desert. There was nothing for she didn't know how far, and no way in sight of reaching anybody. She has seen someone run past her, that she was now able to see was...Amanda Gage? Shannon had no idea how Amanda could run so fast, or how she got there, but then again, she didn't know how she herself was there.
"Hey! Amanda, wait." Shannon found that she could also fun quite fast because of the much increased strength in her leg muscles. But, Amanda was still losing her, and quickly, as Shannon could not keep up with her speed. Shannon was thirsty, but she was in a desert. She quickly looked around and could somehow tell which plants would give her water, and she ran to the nearest one. Before she could reach it, on one step she heard a click. She looked down to see herself standing on a landmine.
"AMANDA!!" she called, but Amanda was already gone.
...
Brady had been sitting, waiting patiently for Dr. Moriarty to wake up. After about an hour, he did.
"Alright," started Brady, "I want to know what the hell is going on, and I want to know now."
"Alright," replied the doctor, "I guess for saving my life, you are entitled to it. I used to be a normal doctor, I had patients and such, nothing out of the ordinary. Until one day, I was taken, forcefully from my home, and forced to ingest a mysterious serum. This serum allowed me to do great things, but it quickly wore off, after about only a week. That's when the people that had forced me to drink it contacted me. They wanted to run some tests, find out why it had worn off of me, but not from that creature that you just saw, he used to be human too. It was three people who contacted me, the creature you just saw, a young man, who did all the talking, and another individual, who never showed his face. My specialty was genetics, and they offered to spare me from the tests that they had planned to put me through, if I could develop an effective serum, or some method at all, for making people, like you, special. No doubt that he'll be here soon now."
"Who?" questioned Brady.
"Him." Brady turned around to see Andy Martin, the one with only two arms. He grabbed Brady and the doctor, and in the next instant nobody was there.
...
Andy had set out to find a wild animal. 'Where do you find one in Glendora?' he thought to himself. He bumped into someone, and turned around to say sorry. He then realized that this person was Courtney, but she had a hood covering her face, and she looked rather despondent.
"Courtney, are you ok? I saw the news. Please, I can help you sort things out."
"Andy, just leave. I am going to make them pay now. All of them." He saw something dripping off of her, and the drips destroyed whatever they touched. Then all of a sudden, without ever looking up, a ring of the street below her melted, and she fell through, with Andy looking on.

The Giant's Heroes-Issue 6

Andy Martin had just walked into a hotel room to find himself pacing across the room.
"Hello, Justice, I won't be here long, don't worry, I just need to find something that I left here." 'Other Andy' was searching under the bed, and all around the room for something.
"Wait, but who?" Andy appeared very confused.
"Oh yes, I suppose that introductions are in order, even though we've met several times, you've even tried to kill me a few times. The name's The Liberator. Now, I have one question for you: animals and werewolves, or statues?"
"Statues, what? What are you talking about, and who are you?" Andy was persistent. 'Other Andy' found something beneath the bed of the motel room.
"Ah," he began, "I knew I hid it somewhere, thank you. And from your answer I know that the answer is werewolves and animals, thank you, Justice. Now, before I make my leave, I suppose that introductions should be in order, even though we've met several times before, or I guess after would be more correct; you've even tried to kill me before. The name's Liberator."
"Andy," replied Andy, shaking Liberator's hand, but suddenly he was gone from the motel room and back at his house.
...
Zac was still getting used to the idea of Jeremiah Midas. Zac was sitting down on the floor of Mid Cave while Jeremiah and Zane were talking.
"Look," started Zac, "I saved you, that's all I had to do. I don't need this, I'm going home."
"Wait, we could use a man of your unique talents, Zac," replied Zane.
"Use me for what?"
"You haven't told him yet?" questioned Jeremiah.
"He said that he knows Andy."
"You know Andy?" asked Jeremiah, "Then you can't go anywhere, at least let me explain what my friend here hasn't."
...
Shannon was struggling to get out of the binds that the strange man, that referred to himself as 'Dreadnaught' had put her in. She felt that she almost could, but just needed a little extra. Suddenly, while looking at the straps that held her, she was able to see the spot on it that was the weakest, and she implemented her strength there. The binds flew off of her. She got up and immediatly looked around for a door, and also immediatly noticed that something was different. She could see almost in robot vision, bieng able to 'see' where the door was, even though it was not in her line of sight. She started to walk towards it, and as she took each step, she could see things differently, being able to see how long the steps were, instantly, as well as the chances that she would slip on each step. She was almost to the door, when she saw someone, or something, run past her at a speed that she was somehow immediately able to calculate was 65mph. She heard the creature, that looked human, say something.
"Hey, wait up!" called Shannon.
...
Dr. Moriarity had lead Brady to a strange test facility within his office with many chemicals and machines that looked, gruseome to say the least to Brady.
"This is where I created you. Well, not you, but the baceria that now race through your body, empowering you to do the things that you do, and changing your eyes to give you very unique vision. It was a very similar strand that I used on your friend, the only difference was that I spiked it up more. I got cocky, assuming it would just make him an even more advanced fighter than you are."
"You mean to tell me that you concoted this, bacteria, in this lab to try and give someone powers, and you just happened to choose me? You sick son of a-" he was interrupted by someone crashing through the glass ceiling. It was nightime, and this creature could easily be said to go 'bump in the night'. The minute the doctor saw the creature Brady noticed how his face filled with fear, and the doctor started to run. The creature unleashed a fearious scream that made Brady cluth his ears and the doctor drop to the ground. It was apparant to Brady that the creature had not noticed him yet, as the creature causaly walked to go pick up the doctor. Brady quickly side stepped to get into the creature's view and jumped at the creature, knocking them both to the ground. Brady punched the creature in the face, but the creature pushed him off, and streaked off into the night, with its large bat wings.
"Whoah," was all that could come to Brady's mouth.
...
"Ah, finally, home at last," spoke Andy to himself. He sat down on his couch and flipped on the television and the news popped up. He began to tune it out as he went into the kitchen to get something to eat. He began to listen to a story that looked interesting, and somehow he thought that it showed something familiar to him.
"Horror struck to today," told the reporter "as one father was brutally murdered in Monrovia, California." Andy turned up the television. "The father, who lived on Evergreen Street was found dead this afternoon when firefighters responded to a call about a possible fire at the house. The house was burned down and the father was found dead. The kids are nowhere to be found at this time. If you have any information about the whereabouts of the murderer of the kids, please call this hotline at the bottom of your screens." Andy then realized why it looked familiar: that was Cody's house.

The Giant's Heroes-Issue 5

Andy was getting ready to leave what was undeniably the strangest city he had ever visited. After being shown the way back home by his animal friends, he decided that he would leave. He was just saying goodbye to the cat that saved his life before he left.
"Look, thanks, for everything." spoke Andy to the cat, still sitting next to the girl, "If there is anything you ever need, you can feel free to come and find me somehow. Are you all going to be ok with these werewolves still here?"
"Yes, Andy, we will be fine. We live in the surrounding woods, and the werewolves constantly come over the border and torment us. Now, thanks to you, we have proved our mettle. So, thank you, Andy. I just have one favor to ask you: wherever you go and whatever you do in life, teach other humans the ability to communicate with us, like you have."
"I will certainly try," responded Andy, "What's with the kid?" he motioned towards the girl.
"She didn't turn last night. We want to see what is different about her than everyone else. You see, this village used to have many, many visitors, and then one day a very strange man came. He was acting very strange and at night at saw him performing some strange ritual. In the morning he was nowhere to be found, but ever since then everybody turns at night, and nobody that was here at the same time as that man cannot leave. We want to know why this one does not turn." Andy nodded and hopped on a horse that offered to give Andy a ride to the nearest 'normal' city, and Andy bolted away.
...
Zac and Zane had made it to this 'Mid Cave', which looked like it is only accessible to flyers or people who are very good at mountain climbing. Zac landed and put down Zane, still waiting for more information, but what Zac saw amazed him.
"Is this a golden statue of a man? Why don't you sell it; it has to be worth millions, at least." Before him sat a golden statue of a man sitting on a chair. The man was rather large, and the statue had to weigh hundreds of pounds.
"Boy, I should take offense at being called a statue!" a bumbly voice roared from the statue. A golden man got up from the chair and walked over to Zane, however slowly. "Zane, old boy, nice to see you again." The older man spoke very slowly.
"Let me introduce you to Zac, Zac Cartwright. Zac, meet the reason that this place is called the MiD Cave, Jeremiah Midas."
"Midas, as in King Midas?" Zac questioned.
"An ancestor of mine," responded Jeremiah, "Much obliged to make your aquaintance."
...
Shannon finally awoke after being asleep for sometime. She tried to get up, but was unable to because, as she quickly discovered, she was strapped down. A young man, just a few years older than her, loomed above her. He had a mask on his face and no shirt on. There was a large scar on his chest that seemed a little like the letter 'd'. Shannon struggled to get out of the constraints on her, but quickly realized that this figure's eyes were fixed upon her.
"No need to struggle, dearest, we're going to have a good time, just you wait. Dreadnaught is going to fix you up nice like." He then turned and left her, alone.
...
At night a mysterious figure walks into a restaurant that is open 24 hours.
"How many?" The hostess asks. The man immediatly punches her in the face, knocking her to the ground. He then picks up her body, and flies out the roof, and away into the night, still holding the inncoent hostess.
...
Andy was finally in a normal city, and was able to find a Motel6 to rest at for the night. After a long night of fighting werewolves, and a long day of talking with various animals. He walked into the Motel6, literally dead tired.
"Please, a room for the night." He gave the employee some money that the animals had given him that they had taken off of the werewolves. The man took the money and handed Andy a room key. Turning the key, he opened the door and came face-to-face with himself.

The Giant's Heroes-Issue 4

A week ago Andy's life was normal, he was going to work, and then coming home and going to church. Now, he finds himself fighting a city of werewolves with a bunch of animals on his side. The fight scene can be described as nothing less than, hectic. Andy watched as a moose hit a werewolf with its antlers, only to be hit by another one. Andy couldn't tell which side was winning, nor was he even positive of why the two sides were fighting. Finally, after knocking one of the smaller werewolves to the ground, Andy saw something that would give his side the edge: one of the werewolves began to turn back into humans. Then, slowly, they all began to, but then something even stranger happened.
The battle began to cease, as the werewolves began to turn back, Andy looked on in amazement. However, as they were turning, they would give out loud shrieks. Some of them died off once turning, others were bleeding, all were naked. Andy, wondering what was happening, asked the same cat from before, "What's going on?"
"The secret to defeating a werewolf is not simply killing it. You see werewolves can sustain much more damage than can normal humans, so as long as you damage them severely enough, then when they turn back, they will die. Unfortunately, they also heal themselves at a much faster rate than that of normal humans, so you would have to battle them all night, sustaining heavy casualties, as you can see we have. However, we have never been able to do this before you came. Now, not all of them will die, but all of them will be incapacitated for a while. Most of them will need medical attention."
"Unfortunately, so do I," replied Andy, collapsing to the ground.
...
"Where are we going?" Zane asked Zac who was flying him to civilization.
"Back to...something."
"No, no, we have to go to mid cave, we have to go," Zane said, struggling to get out of Zac's grasp. Finally, he succeeded, falling from Zac's arms very high up in the air. Zac immediately swooped down and picked him up.
"Fine we'll go to this, mid cave, but first, you have to explain to me who you are, and why the heck you're after Andy."
...
Brady had made it back to the Dr. Moriarty's office. The doctor was inside, and appeared to be waiting for him.
"So, you're back," spoke the doctor.
"Yeah, but not about me, about my friend, that you poisoned."
"I gave him something very similar to what I gave you, I don't know why it didn't work the same way. You got super powers, and he died. Some people have to die for the sake of science, that's just how it goes." Brady was looking through one of the walls of the office via his x-ray vision, and could see that there were machines and chemicals behind that wall that no ordinary doctor would have.
"Alright, Moriarty, I want to know what brand of perverse science you practice, and I want to know now." He picked up the doctor, "Lest you see first hand the affects of what you did to me."
...
Zane had just told Zac the direction of this mid cave. "Look," began Zane, "I used to be normal, I used to be stuck in a dead-end job. But The Liberator changed all that, one thing lead to another. It's hard to explain, but it will be easier once we get to mid cave. Let me just say this, it was The Liberator that trapped me in the body."
...
Andy was recovering from his wounds, with the help of his animal friends. He was well enough to walk, which is more than could be said for most of the townsfolk. It was weird, it was now a town run by animals, with convulsing, injured humans littered about. Some of the Animals were walking around also, and Andy wanted some explanations. He walked about the town, searching for one of the Animals to ask what the heck was going on. He found his friend the cat, being petted by a young girl.
"Please," started Andy, "What is going on?"

The Giant's Heroes-Issue 3

Andy had just witnessed a man run out of his house, rip off his clothes, and transform into a werewolf. He started to see more people run out of their houses and behave similarly.
"Next time, I'm definitely listening to the cat," Andy said to himself. He began to back out of the city slowly, he didn't have anywhere in particular to go, just anywhere else would do. At first he was successful, but then he accidentally backed into one of the werewolves. Andy didn't know if he could communicate with it or not, seeing how he wasn't sure if it was human, animal, or something else entirely. "Sorry," spoke Andy, "didn't see you there. So, if you'll excuse me, I'll just be on my way." However, as Andy started to leave, the massive werewolf stepped in front of him. As Andy stepped to the side, so to did the werewolf. Andy looked around to see several werewolves had surrounded him.
"To think that you are going anywhere before we are through with you is foolish," spoke an especially menacing looking werewolf. "And once we're done with you, there won't be anything left to go anywhere."
"Wait," began Andy, "you're werewolves, but you can talk?"
"Of course," replied the same werewolf that Andy assumed to be the leader, "At least some of us can. Now, enough chatting, you look too delicious to resist." Andy immediately tore the other set of arms out of his shirt, and got ready to take on the werewolves, seeing no other options. One leapt at him, and Andy sidestepped, knocking that werewolf into another. Another one charged for Andy, but Andy was able to use his four arms to throw him aside. However, one swiped at Andy from behind, knocking him to the ground, and a few surrounded him.
"Enough of this!" called the leader, "I'm hungry."

Zac had just rescued what looked like a boy from under a boat in the middle of a dessert. "What do you need to tell me?" questioned Zac.
"Everything," the boy replied in a more manly voice than should be expected from a character such as this. "Let me start with my name: Zane, Zane Hollinder. I have dedicated the better half of my life to stopping one man: The Liberator."
"The who?" questioned Zac, taking the boy in his arms, and beginning to fly, as he needed to find his way back to civilization.
"The Liberator, codename Andy Martin. I have been-" but he was cut off by Zac.
"Andy Martin? I know Andy Martin. You're going to have to explain this to me."
...
Brady was talking to a few of his Navy buddies. He found his x-ray vision to be something that required a little, getting used to. One of his friends was talking about his recent visit to the doctor's office, motioning to the pills that the doctor had given him that he had taken not too long before the conversation started. Suddenly, the young man began to choke, and seemed to not be able to breathe. He started to seizure and soon fell, unconscious, and after taking his pulse, everybody discovered that he had been poisoned, and now lay dead. Everybody was freaking out, and, using his x-ray vision, Brady looked at the business card in his friend's shirt pocket to see that the name on it read 'Doctor Moriarty'. Brady then burned with rage and said to himself, "I think that it is time to pay that old doc a visit. He then grabbed his yellow lab coat and left.

Shannon was trying to get her barrings after waking up from a car crash that had knocked her out and sent her flying from the car. She didn't know where she was, but she didn't recognize anything. She began to walk, but tripped after walking just a few steps. After a minute of taking a few deep breaths and sitting down in the middle of the street, she realized that she was still in Glendora, near her church. She decided to walk there, hoping to find someone there to help fix her car. However, after taking a few more steps, she fell again, and her consciousness once again left her.

In a high-tech, scientific DNA altering facility at night, a man, with large bat wings coming off of his back, lands down from the roof. After getting up from the landing he looks around, sees that the alarm is still set, but also sees a security guard running towards him. The winged man opens his mouth and breathes a strange gas from it that comes into the security guards lungs and strips him of oxygen, suffocating him. The winged entity then turned towards a vat with a strange liquid inside, reached his hand in, and pulled out a strange vial of something. As the hand with the vial came out of the vat it was revealed to be very scarred and burnt, but as the figure looked at the vial, in a very low, very brooding voice said, "Finally, the pieces are in place."
...
Several werewolves were closing in on Andy, and he feared for the worst. As one jumped at him he tried to swat it away, but it scratched his face. He backed up against a wall, as four of the bigger werewolves closed in on him. He tried to read their faces, see which one of them was going to go in for the kill, but couldn't tell. Then, suddenly, the biggest one of the four jumped at him, and all Andy could do was brace for impact, but no impact came. Andy opened his eyes and looked up to see that a large grizzly bear had hit the werewolf in mid jump. Andy looked in the direction the grizzly had come from to see several bears, and various other animals, all behind the cat from the inn.
"I told you not to stay here," reminded the cat, "but I figured you wouldn't listen to me, so I brought in some reinforcements." Andy, bruised, scratched, and bleeding from already fighting the werewolves, stood up with renewed strength, and a much appreciated small army of fearsome animals. Right as a horse came by, Andy jumped on.
"Now it's a bit more fair," told Andy charging in along with the other animals.

The Giant's Heroes-Issue 2

Andy had been wandering around for days. After hitch-hiking out of San Diego, he found himself in a very small town. The town, from what he could tell, was only of about 150 people. He didn't know that any of those still existed, and he just wanted to go to the inn to rest for a few days. He walked into the inn, and met an innkeeper with a smile on her face, which was rare for him to see.
"Hi, how may I help you?" She had a kind voice, and he had high expectations for this particular place of rest.
"Uh, yeah, I just need a room here, for just one night."
"Alright, and would you like the grand suite, or just the basic?" The receptionist asked.
"You don't want a room here," called a voice. Andy looked over to the stairs and saw a cat coming down.
"Oh yes, my insanity," Andy said to himself.
"It's not insanity," replied the cat, "But to stay in this inn would be nothing less. Believe me. If you can talk to me, wait why can you talk to me?"
"Shhh," told the receptionist to the cat, as she just heard it meow.
"Why? Why don't I want a room here?" Andy asked the cat.
"You've been warned," the cat answered, and scurried off.
"So, what kind of room do you want?" finally spoke the receptionist once again.
...
Brady knew that he had to be getting back to the Navy base soon, but he also knew that the man who poisoned him couldn't have gotten far. It was nearing night, and he soon had to report for duty. He decided to start back towards the base, but on second thought headed to the nearest city. Maybe a doctor could find out how to offset the fact that he can only see in yellow. He hurried to the nearest doctor's office, and found it extremely fortunate that the doctor had no appointments at that particular time. Upon seeing the doctor, he explained everything.
"Hmmm," the doctor began after sitting for a moment. "I think that I need to take a tissue sample, and a tear sample from your eye." The doctor did that very thing, and he got out his microscope and viewed the up close. After several minutes, the doctor exclaimed, "Fascinating!"
"What is it asked Brady?"
"It appears that somehow the poison that this person gave you reacted with your cells in a very unusual way. Your cells now for some reason crave the color yellow. That is why you can only see in yellow, it is your brain telling your eye cells that everything is yellow, otherwise you would only see things that are yellow."
"Oh man, what can I do, doc?"
"Here," he handed Brady a yellow lab coat and a pair of yellow goggles.
...
Zac had discovered that his mystery item was nothing more than an overturned boat, but out in the dessert? He decided to fly down to it nonetheless. It wasn't very big, just a small fishing boat with the word "Cometh" on the side. It looked like there had been more written there at one point but it had been scratched off. Zac had realized that he didn't need the wings above his head to fly, as he now had some sort of natural propulsion system within his body. He figured that the boat was probably not worth his time, so he decided to fly off, when he suddenly heard a strange sound come from the boat that sounded like a human.
"Hello?" Zac called and surprisingly, he heard a reply.
"Please, I don't know who you are, but I'm stuck under here, help me please!" Zac knew he had to help, but didn't quite know how at first.
"Just sit tight," responded Zac. Upon first instinct, Zac looked around for anything that could help him rescue this guy, and seeing none, he flew up to get a better look. He didn't know how long the man had bee down there, and he knew that any delay might cost the man his life, so he flew immediately down to the boat and tried to lift it off of the man, but it was too heavy. He put his hands on the boat, and leaned against it, trying to think of something to do, when suddenly he felt a great deal of energy withing his body that wanted to come out, and he let it. Immediately, a force field shot out from his body, shattering the boat into a thousand pieces. "Cool," Zac said to himself. He looked down to the spot at which the boat was previously, and there lay a small boy, of probably ten years old, but the voice that he had heard was a man's voice.
"I have much to tell you, savior," spoke the boy, but in the voice of a man.
...
I want to create a training regiment for you," spoke the doctor at first to Brady, "to see how your cells react to those yellow clothes." Brady had put on the yellow sunglasses and lab coat, but he began to become suspicious of why the doctor had no appointments. The when Brady emerged from the changing room, the doctor threw a syringe at Brady, but from Brady's perspective the syringe seemed to be moving in slow-mo, so he easily caught it.
"Watch it," Brady warned the doctor.
"Enhanced reflexes, very nice," responded the doctor.
"And X-Ray vision," confessed Brady, "Look doc, I appreciate you doing this for me, but I really have to get back to work, may I keep these?" He motioned towards the glasses.
"Yes, and the coat, they're yours, as long as you do me one favor, just keep in touch." He handed Brady a business card. Brady looked at it; it said 'Doctor Moriarty', and listed the address and number of the doctor. Brady thought the name sounded vaguely familiar, but hustled back to the base.

Police respond to a burglary attempt at a local electronics store. By the time they get there, there is nobody inside, except for a few unconscious employees. The cops notice a door, that leads to possibly a storage closet or an addition to the store, ajar. One cop kicks it open, while another points his gun in to see a man with a trench coat on, carrying something under his arm.
"Drop the-thing- and put your hands in the air," a cop with a slight Australian accent said. The mystery figure immediately made a sweeping motion with his hand, and then let out a vicious scream. The cops covered their ears in agony and dropped their firearms, although one of the cops was able to get a shot off at the strange figure before the figure dropped his trench coat and flew away with strange, bat-like wings and a slight chuckle.

Andy was taking a slight stroll around the city, before making his decision as to take a night off from trying to get home, or take the advice of a cat. Andy saw a man come out of a local house and scream, before ripping his clothes off. Andy wandered what was going on with this man, and then saw that he had started to transform into a...

The Giant's Heroes-Issue I

Andy awoke lying face down. He felt something crawling on him, and out of instinct he routinely said, "Get off." The little rat scurried away. He felt different. Then it him as he got himself up using two arms, he still had two arms to use. "Ahhhh! What happened to me!?!" Immediately Andy started running and didn't stop until he was back at the place that this all had happened. But alas, all of the government agents were gone, and Andy saw no way of tracking them down. Looking at his shirt, with two huge holes in it where his arms had popped out, Andy could feel the desire for justice welling up within him. "I'll get them!" he yelled.
...
Brady didn't know what had just happened. He had to have been poisoned, or drugged. He stumbled outside, not knowing what was going on around him. One of his buddies ran up to him.
"You ok, Brady?" Then, after Brady had looked up at him he added, "Dude, what happened to your eyes-they're yellow?"
"What's wrong with you, you're yellow," replied Brady, "Wait a second, everything is yellow!" A bunch of Navy guys gathered around to see Brady and his new eyes. Brady, on the other hand, ran back into his house, got his wallet and left, to see if he could find the son of a gun that did this to him.
...
Andy pushed the lid off of the manhole cover that he had come to. There were no cars on the street, so he quickly put the lid back on and fan to the nearest sidewalk. It was night, and he figured the best place would go would be home, to get a coat to cover up his new...appendages. But where was home, and where was he? He saw a passerby. "Hey, bro, do you know what city this is?" What Andy didn't realize is that he had four arms, stunk of the sewer, and was dripping wet.
"Get away from me, you freak," the man replied and ran away. Andy frowned but ultimately could do nothing about it. Then he noticed a blind man and his dog walking on the other side of the street. Andy knew this was his chance, as a blind man would only hear his voice and not see his extra arms. Andy quickly crossed the street and nearly shouted to the man, "Hey, do you know what city we're in?"
"Irwindale," the man replied, and then snickered. Somehow, he didn't know how, but Andy knew that this guy was lying. It was more than just a hunch; it was a certainty.
"You're lying, we're not in Irwindale."
"Yes, yes, we ARE in Irwindale," replied the man and he snickered again. The man's dog barked, signaling him to stop walking, as it was his guide dog. The dog barked twice more, however Andy heard much more than a bark.
"Sorry," he heard, "my walker is a bit of a jerk, especially for being blind. We are in San Diego. By the way, why do you have two extra arms? You are human, right?" Andy found it odd that the dog was speaking to him, but he found it even more strange that the dog didn't find it strange that he could understand.
"I'm not sure," he responded to the dog.
"What?" the blind man asked.
"Nothing," replied Andy, and he left, intent on at least getting home.
...
Zac awoke in a strange field, unaware of where he was or how he got there. The last thing that he remembered was trying that bizarre dish, and now, he was here. He looked around, turned around, and saw nothing for miles. He saw something that might possibly be something a few miles south, and he jumped to get a better look. He didn't see it any better, however he did notice that he never hit the ground: he was floating. He tried to go higher, and slowly he could, and slowly he realized what was happening: he was flying. Then he realized how, also; he felt above his ears to realize that he had tiny, albeit capable of flight, wings. He was ecstatic, and he decided to fly right towards that mystery something that he had seen earlier. His life just got exciting.
...
It is still nighttime, there is still darkness. In an unknown location an innocent woman walks down the street, alone, after working a late shift at a restaurant. A man approaches her, but she keeps walking. He grabd her and pulls her purse off of her arm. Before she has time he to even let out a screech, he gives her a hard jab to the mouth and she falls on her face, unconscious. He then slips off the trench coat he had on to reveal two large, bat-like wings which he uses to fly away with his catch. A thin smile spreads across his face as he flies, and an even slighter chuckle can be heard, however not to anyone on the ground. He flies with great precision, but where he is flying to, that is unknown.
...
Andy knows not what to do. Before he has time to decide anything however, he sees something fly overhead and watches its trajectory. Too big to be any bird, Andy knows what that means, or at least assumes he does. "They've made more of me," he says to nobody in particular. "I must stop them before they wreak any more destruction." He then sets off, intent on employing justice to whomever did this to him.

Hugs

As I doubt many people even read my notes, I don't feel remorse in typing anything. There is just something I don't understand about human interaction: the hug. It is one of the only things engaged in between people who're casual friends and lovers alike. But why is this? Well, it depends on the type of hug. You see, there is the casual just, nice to see you hug that usually involves the people touching for no longer than two seconds. This is one that is done mostly by just casual friends. Then, there is the even more casual hug, or the half-hug. This is where one person puts one arm around another person's side, and not much is meant by this hug. It is nothing more than a recognition of one's friendship for another. However, there are different types of friend hugs, across genders. For instance, when two guys hug, especially if they're family or the same age, there is almost always a high-five, pats on the back, or slight rubs on the back. When two females hug however, it is more just an upper-body hug, as there is really not a whole lot of effort put fourth b/c it is such a common thing.

But, I have already discussed some of what cross-gender hugging involves and the different types, however, these hugs can still be awkward. This happens when the hug receiver receives a hug from someone whom they're not very close to or otherwise does not want to receive a hug from. There is an exception to this, though, as there are some guys who hug all the girls they say hello or goodbye to and it isn't ever awkward. These are more flirtatious or sexy guys though, and the hug is usually accompanied by a thought of 'what if...?' However, most guys can only hug certain friends at certain times. And even then they have to be careful; personally I think that the former group of guys has it lucky, but there's nothing I can do about it.

The hugs that are engaged in between lovers, or even just people who feel mutual attraction greater than friendship for each other, is greatly different. This is more of a full-on embrace and may take anywhere from just a few second to a few minutes, and perhaps involve other things like a kiss or an exchange of 'I love you's. These are the most awkward hugs to watch, but the most comfortable to be a part of. As other hugs can leave someone with a thought of 'what if', these hugs usually leave someone with a thought of 'I'll see you later', or 'last night was fun'. Either way, these are certainly the most amorous type of hugs.

However, there is another type of hug that is the most necessary to human existence. This is what I like to call, the needed hug. This phenomena occurs when an individual experiences hardship, like a break up, or an argument or some other thing and has unresolved feeling of anger or animosity. The person is then in the stage of needing a hug. If this person doesn't get a hug, these mal thoughts can continue and nothing good comes of the situation. However, if the person does get a hug, a casual friend hug will not do. This person requires a longer, more personal embrace, and it should be given to them thusly. Don't skimp on the hugs people. Most of the time that someone needs a hug tears have been shed, so for the love of love people, if someone says I need a hug, grab them tight and don't be reluctant ot oblige them.

365 Days as a Working Man

So, this is my first blog on my blog website, and I will slowly be uploading my old blogs here, but I will no longer be blogging on myspace. This website will update much more often than did my myspace blog, and it will be mostly about food. However, it will be filled-in with philosophical thoughts and other random posts. Today, having worked for about 13 months now, I decided that I would write a post for all of you who are starting a new job or are soon to do so. So, after 365+ days as a working man, here is what I have learned:

Music makes work easier, but only if it is good music.
Most people have the ability to read, they just don't exercise it. For instance:
People don't see the huge sign that says fitting room, but if I tell them that it is by the tv, they know right where it is
Also, if people do read signs, they tend to doubt what the signs say. For instance:
If I am folding a table of shirts that has a sign that says buy one, get two free, every other person will ask me if those shirts are buy one, get two free. If it is what the sign says, it's true; I kept wanting to say, "No, it's really buy one for the price of three, we just put the sign up to fool you!"
Folding Clothes is one of the most boring things on the planet to do, but it still beats dealing with customers.
There is a lot more that goes into a business than you probably realize: there are morning teams, night teams, unloaders, janitors, sometimes overnight teams, adsetters, recovery teams, etc.
1 in about every 9 people has a physical handicap of some kind.
As opposed to 1 out of about every 1.5 people, on average, are very stupid. I'm just speaking the truth.
Most people are incapable to find stuff w/o asking someone who looks like they know what they're talking about.
If you are 6'4" tall or taller, than almost every person you meet will comment on your height.
People will listen to anything you say if you're wearing a nametag, even if it is a complete fabrication.
It is hard to find things to talk about with managers: weather is a huge one.
If you are a smooth talker, it doesn't matter how much of a screw off you are, you can still get employee of the month.
Coworkers are willing to talk about anything with you. They're in the same situation they might as well.
If you get an article from the back for someone, they feel they're now forever in debted to you, for some reason.
People are generally pigs, leaving stuff that doesn't fit in the fitting rooms, like it is their own personal bedroom.
People will do ANYTHING to save a buck or two. They will drag you all over the store, make you call your manager, return 15 items, and go to all lengths, to save 3$.
Customers, for some reason, act ignorant when it comes to Technology. They will act like a computer is some ancient voodoo.
A store should not have a sign that says BOGO when it is buy one get Two free!!!

And the #1 thing I learned while working is that the most idiotic, ignorant, wishy-washy, unbelievably nail-headed people are customers. Having, for the most part, no regard for the feelings or thoughts of cashiers, but instead, these mindless insects infect the working world with their questions of, "is this the right price?" and "are these really by one get one free?" Ugh, there is really no hope for humanity.
