365 Days as a Working Man

So, this is my first blog on my blog website, and I will slowly be uploading my old blogs here, but I will no longer be blogging on myspace. This website will update much more often than did my myspace blog, and it will be mostly about food. However, it will be filled-in with philosophical thoughts and other random posts. Today, having worked for about 13 months now, I decided that I would write a post for all of you who are starting a new job or are soon to do so. So, after 365+ days as a working man, here is what I have learned:

Music makes work easier, but only if it is good music.
Most people have the ability to read, they just don't exercise it. For instance:
People don't see the huge sign that says fitting room, but if I tell them that it is by the tv, they know right where it is
Also, if people do read signs, they tend to doubt what the signs say. For instance:
If I am folding a table of shirts that has a sign that says buy one, get two free, every other person will ask me if those shirts are buy one, get two free. If it is what the sign says, it's true; I kept wanting to say, "No, it's really buy one for the price of three, we just put the sign up to fool you!"
Folding Clothes is one of the most boring things on the planet to do, but it still beats dealing with customers.
There is a lot more that goes into a business than you probably realize: there are morning teams, night teams, unloaders, janitors, sometimes overnight teams, adsetters, recovery teams, etc.
1 in about every 9 people has a physical handicap of some kind.
As opposed to 1 out of about every 1.5 people, on average, are very stupid. I'm just speaking the truth.
Most people are incapable to find stuff w/o asking someone who looks like they know what they're talking about.
If you are 6'4" tall or taller, than almost every person you meet will comment on your height.
People will listen to anything you say if you're wearing a nametag, even if it is a complete fabrication.
It is hard to find things to talk about with managers: weather is a huge one.
If you are a smooth talker, it doesn't matter how much of a screw off you are, you can still get employee of the month.
Coworkers are willing to talk about anything with you. They're in the same situation they might as well.
If you get an article from the back for someone, they feel they're now forever in debted to you, for some reason.
People are generally pigs, leaving stuff that doesn't fit in the fitting rooms, like it is their own personal bedroom.
People will do ANYTHING to save a buck or two. They will drag you all over the store, make you call your manager, return 15 items, and go to all lengths, to save 3$.
Customers, for some reason, act ignorant when it comes to Technology. They will act like a computer is some ancient voodoo.
A store should not have a sign that says BOGO when it is buy one get Two free!!!

And the #1 thing I learned while working is that the most idiotic, ignorant, wishy-washy, unbelievably nail-headed people are customers. Having, for the most part, no regard for the feelings or thoughts of cashiers, but instead, these mindless insects infect the working world with their questions of, "is this the right price?" and "are these really by one get one free?" Ugh, there is really no hope for humanity.
